Being an important backbone enterprise of the State, China North Industries Group Corporation (hereinafter abbreviated as the “CNGC”) is an extra-large-sized state-owned enterprise under direct administration of the Central Government. It is a strategic team for the country to react to challenge and crisis, absorbing the backbone of R&D and manufacture of China ordnance industry, representing the development direction and level of China ordnance industry. The CNGC owns over 120 research institutes, trading companies & manufacturing enterprises, and nearly 100 overseas branches and outlets distributed in dozens of countries and regions around the world. The CNGC has total assets of about RMB 100 billion yuan and over 300 thousands employees.

The CNGC is an investment organization authorized by the State and an operation entity of state-owned assets. The CNGC enjoys the decision-making power of investment, beneficial interest in assets, authority to examine and approve foreign affairs, import & export permits, and project contracting right, and engages in both product operation and capital operation.

Being the largest group in China for manufacturing defense equipment and serving army, navy, air force as well as the arms of other service, the CNGC spares no efforts in research and development of high-technology weapons of various areas such as precision striking, amphibious assaulting system, long range suppression systems, air defense & anti-missile systems, information & night vision system, high efficiency assault & destroy systems, holding a fundamental strategic position and function in the construction of China national defense modernization.

Adhering to the policy of CNGC “ combining the ordnance with civilian industry”, the CNGC devoted itself to application of high technology obtained from ordnance field into civilian product. By sufficiently taking advantage of military product technology and resources, a lot of backbone civilian products have been successfully developed backed with high military technology. The CNGC has made great contribution to the modernization of national economic construction.

Based on a strategic judge stated in 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, the first two decades of the 21 century is a stage of filling of key& strategic opportunity which must be embraced and developed significantly, and also as required by the Chinese characteristic military reform, the CNGC will make an effort to promote the information, precision, fast and long-range development of military technology in the coming 20 years. Up to year 2020, hopefully Chinese military technology can be listed in the leading sector around the world, meanwhile an important global high-tech R&D and manufacture base would be established, and the CNGC will become an international company with higher competitiveness.
